Landrush phase of .eu domains
After close of the Sunrise phase the general registration phase opened. Each interested party had the possibilty trying to register their prefered domains. Also 50.000 names, which have not been allocated during the Sunrise phase have been made available for registration again.
The interest in this domains was extremely high and there have been investors, who invested millions to get the most valuable domains. Optimized registration systems of providers helped them registering lots of them, as there was also the principle "the first wins" or in other words "first come - first served".
The chances in getting a domain successfully have been very low - understandable as there have been around 500 registrars in competition for one domain. As each domain is individual - only one provider (the fastest) per domain could win.
